For spa owners, it represents more than just an amenity – it’s a profit-generating wellness upgrade that adds a unique layer of value to a menu of services

OpenSeed has launched its multisensory Iris Meditation Pod, designed in collaboration with Fuseproject – a design and innovation company founded by Yves Behar.

Following three years of research, design and development, the Iris Pod has entered production and is being delivered to a wide range of industries to democratise access to wellness and also to support professionals working in high-stress environments.

The pod has been designed to provide users with a way to ground themselves by cultivating awareness, emotional resilience and personal growth in order to improve performance.

The Iris Pod features vibro-acoustic technology, aromatherapy, light therapy, music, guided meditations and soundscapes. These elements are said to help users achieve the alpha brain state (relaxed yet wakeful brainwave activity) in under 12 minutes.

The felt-based design and customisable finishes for the pod have been created with support from Mexico City-based firm Tuux.

Jonathan Marcoschamer, co-founder and CEO of OpenSeed, told Spa Business: “We’re thrilled to introduce the much-needed Iris Pod to the world – a solution that not only addresses a real challenge for spas but also creates new opportunities for growth and guest satisfaction.

“In today’s wellness market, clients are seeking deeper experiences that go beyond massages, facials and saunas,” added Marcoshamer. “They want tools to cultivate inner peace, manage stress and access higher states of wellbeing. The Iris Pod offers exactly that: a beautifully designed, private, multisensory space where guests can quickly drop into meditation, release tension and leave feeling recharged.

“For spa owners, it represents more than just an amenity – it’s a profit-generating wellness upgrade that adds a unique layer of value to a menu of services,” continued Marcoshamer. “By giving clients a gateway into meditation, you’re not only enhancing their immediate experience but also empowering them with skills and practices they’ll carry forward – ensuring they associate your spa with real transformation and care."

Since the project to create the Iris Pod was first announced in 2022, OpenSeed has gained clients in spa and hospitality settings, including Fairmont Hotels. Fairmont Hanoi, a 241-key property in Vietnam will open in February 2026 with an Iris Pod.

Workplace wellness clients include Morgan Stanley and Deloitte, while a range of healthcare centres in the US have also installed Iris Pods to support medical staff and patients.

The price for an Iris Pod is US$22,500 (€19,800, £17,100), with add-on features such as red light therapy costing US$3,000 (€2,640, £2,280).
