Polaris launches fitness solution for spas
29 Mar 2006 . BY
 /
Polaris Fitness has launched Body Coach®, a fitness concept ideal for the needs of spas.

Centred on whole body vibration, Body Coach has been scientifically shown to achieve the equivalent of a traditional strength training programme in 80 per cent less time.

The result is that using it for training three times a week for 20 minutes gives 20-30 per cent better results in a greatly reduced time.

A further benefit is its compact design, which allows spas to offer their clients a fitness solution in a fraction of the space required for traditional strength machines. This, combined with the time required on the machine, gives an enhanced throughput of clients.

The key to Body Coach's success is the three-dimensional vibrations it produces. These stimulate a 'stretch reflex' - an automatic muscle reaction - which activates 100 per cent of the muscle mass against the 60-80 percent achieved by traditional training methods.

A combination of postures allow the user to train virtually every muscle in their body, making the system a fast, compact and effective alternative to traditional strength training methods.

Graham Taylor, Managing Director of Polaris, says: "The great thing about Body Coach is that it can be used by so many people.

"Not only can it be utilised as part of a training programme, but it can also be used as part of medical and fitness rehabilitation."

A multi-functional device, in addition to strength training Body Coach can be used to warm-up, stretch, burn fat and - of particular interest to spas - for massage.

Using it has also been shown to combat conditions including osteoporosis and cellulite.
