A product has to be a part of the solution, instead of part of the problem
– Davide Bollati |
April marks the launch of Earth Month, an initiative close to spa skincare specialist Comfort Zone’s heart, due to its deep-rooted commitment to helping regenerate the planet. The company is dedicated to a host of sustainable company initiatives including CO2 compensation projects, a progressive reduction of virgin plastic and supporting regenerative agriculture.
The launch of Comfort Zone’s refreshed, organic and carbon-neutral Sacred Nature skincare line, marked the company’s first collection to be formulated with ingredients grown through regenerative agriculture.
The range includes a proprietary antioxidant – called Scientific Garden Extract – with bio-fermented botanical extracts selected and studied at the brand’s Scientific Garden at the Davines Village in Parma.
When it comes to sourcing the active ingredients for the extract, Comfort Zone works with farmers who use regenerative agriculture techniques and who are close by – in Parma and also in Sardinia – to minimise CO2 emissions.
According to Davide Bollati, Comfort Zone CEO, the ultimate goal of Sacred Nature’s is to ensure a consciousness about both the importance of skin health and climate change.
“A product has to be a part of the solution, instead of part of the problem,” he commented, “and this means embracing regeneration and revolutionising the way we formulate, select the ingredients of and design our ranges.”
As of 2021, Comfort Zone contributes to biodiversity protection, environmental and social sustainability projects, by donating 1 per cent of its sales to the 1% for the Planet initiative.
It’s also donating all profits from its proprietary e-commerce platforms to the non-profit Rodale Institute – founded in 1947 – which is growing the organic regenerative movement through research, farmer training and consumer education.
