Construction has started on the new Mirbeau Inn & Spa at
The Pinehills in Plymouth, Massachusetts, US.
Designed by Boston architectural-firm
Arrowstreet in the style of a French manor house, the 50-room getaway includes the 14,000sq ft (1,301sq m) Spa Mirbeau, which will offer massages, body wraps, scrubs, facials, manicures, pedicures, and couple treatments.
It will also feature yoga and fitness studios, aerobic exercise equipment, eucalyptus-infused steamrooms and an outdoor hot massage pool.
Due to open in spring 2014, the resort will overlook The Pinehills village green and the 18th hole of the Rees Jones Golf Course.
It is the second property in the Mirbeau Collection and, like the
first property at Skaneateles in the Finger Lakes Region of New York, it will feature pond gardens inspired by Monet's gardens at Giverny in France.
Linda Dower, principal of The Mirbeau Companies, said: "We share a similar philosophy with The Pinehills and it is the perfect location for us to serve the Boston/Providence regional market area. It is an excellent marriage of brands."
