Aman launches private jet wellness journeys
POSTED 15 May 2017 . BY Tom Walker
Amanyangyun, as the retreat will be called, gets its name from the phrase ‘Yang Yun,’ meaning ‘the nourishing of clouds'
Singapore-based resort group Aman has launched a new service taking guests on a series of wellness-focused tours using private jets.

Aman’s new Private Jet Wellness Journeys will transport travelers to “sources of wellness”, such as spiritual monuments of Java, luxury resorts in Bali and mindfulness retreats in the Kingdom of Bhutan.

The wellness experiences on offer at the destinations include yoga and pilates sessions by celebrity tutors, ayurvedic therapies, personalised meetings with wellness specialists and unique wellness programmes – such as the The Effortless Life Operating System (TELOS), which combines tennis with mindfulness training.

Each journey will have a capacity of just 16 guests and the groups will be taken to their destinations – where they will stay at Aman resort accommodation – using two Gulfstream G200 private jets.

The length of the journeys will vary between 13 and 16 days.

The private jet experience comes a year after Aman launched Aman Wellness, a concept which includes “individual wellness immersions” and group retreat experiences headed by health specialists across its 30 hotels and resorts.

A spokesperson for Aman said: “Following the successful launch of Aman Wellness in 2016, Aman is delighted to share an extensive calendar of group retreats and for the first time, private jet wellness journeys taking place across the collection’s meditative and remote locations in 2017.

“Headed by globally celebrated health specialists, these retreats invite guests to combine life-changing travel experiences with wellbeing journeys, designed to restore a sense of peace and invigorate mind, spirit and body.”

The first Private Jet Wellness Journey will take place from 18 September to 3 October across Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam.

The 16-day journey will feature wellness guru Yamuna Zake leading guests on a body and mind balancing adventure, introducing the travellers to the Yamuna body rolling method.

Other journeys include one organised in partnership with luxury travel designer Remote Lands, which will take guests across Asia, including China, Bhutan, India and Sri Lanka.

With prices starting at US$57,750, guests will have the thrilling opportunity to walk along the Great Wall of China, visit off-limits areas of Beijing’s Forbidden City and marvel at the Tiger’s Nest in Bhutan.

Aman was founded in 1988 with the vision of building a collection of intimate wellness retreats. The first Aman-branded resort opened in Phuket, Thailand and the group has since grown its portfolio to include 31 hotels and resorts located across Asia, Europe, North America and Africa.
