Russell Square is the latest health club to benefit from our £50m investment programme, which is seeing Bannatyne clubs across the country offering the latest in cutting-edge fitness equipment
– Justin Musgrove
The Bannatyne Group has completed a £750,000 upgrade of its Russell Square club in the heart of London.

The works included the refurbishment of the gym floor, studios spaces, wet areas and changing rooms – as well as the introduction of new customer service technology.

Among the tech additions are the new B:360 wristbands, which members will be able to use to access the health club, make contactless payments, use lockers and engage with Technogym’s MyWellness system.

The investment is part of the group’s £50m investment programme to update all of its UK health clubs. The group has 66 sites across the UK, with some 200,000 members.

Justin Musgrove, CEO of The Bannatyne Group, said: “Russell Square is the latest health club to benefit from our £50m investment programme, which is seeing Bannatyne clubs across the country offering the latest in cutting-edge fitness equipment, the most up to date classes and the best relaxation facilities to our members.

“The feedback we are already receiving from Russell Square members indicates that this is money well spent. The new collaborative gym equipment and virtual classes, in particular, are being singled out for praise.”

To coincide with the redevelopment, Bannatyne announced that it had appointed a new general manager to run the redesigned club. The new manager, Josh Siritzky, has previously held management positions at Virgin Active and Anytime Fitness.

Founded by Duncan Bannatyne in 1997, Bannatyne Health Clubs has 69 sites across the UK, more than 200,000 members and 3,000 staff.
