The developers of the Palmera de Cabarete Resort & Spa, the first luxury resort to be built on Dominican Republic's north shore, have confirmed that the property will open later this year.
The announcement was made by Darren Law, president and CEO of NID Holdings, which owns the site.
Plans for the US$200m (145m euro, £124m) resort will mix hotel rooms with residential suites and plans include 138 one- to three-bedroom apartments ranging from 2,000sq ft (185sq m) to more than 4,500sq ft (370sq m).
Three expansive, oceanfront freshwater infinity pools will provide a focal point for the resort, set among eco-friendly garden landscaping.
Amenities will include a full-service branded spa and wellness facility; tennis courts; a range of gourmet dining options; and conference facilities.
NID Holdings has appointed KWE group, a Miami-based travel, hospitality and lifestyle marketing firm, to handle global marketing and sales.
