Henri Chenot announces retirement and appoints Dr George Gaitanos to continue Chenot legacy
POSTED 06 Oct 2020 . BY Megan Whitby
An advocate of prevention rather than cure, Henri Chenot was one of the first to talk about “successful ageing”
Following his decision to retire, Henri Chenot has appointed Dr George Gaitanos, Chenot Group COO and scientific director, to continue the role of the scientific development of Chenot.

An advocate of prevention rather than cure, Henri Chenot was one of the first to talk about “successful ageing”, believing that the answer to a long and healthy life lies in the correct combination of genetics, lifestyle behaviour and environment.

For almost 50 years, Chenot has specialised in the health wellness and hospitality sector providing and developing medical spa programmes, treatments, cosmetic products and food supplements that promote healthy living, wellness and successful ageing.

“As architect and founder of the pioneering wellness movement and the Chenot Method, Henri has created a powerful experience and a globally-renowned brand of which we are very proud,” says Ivana Sgheiz, CEO.

“Working closely alongside Henri since 2013, George Gaitanos has been extremely instrumental in the development of Chenot, and we’re certain he is the right person to continue to honour Henri’s legacy, while growing our brand globally.”

Henri's legacy, the Chenot Method, will live on in the brand’s vision: to confirm its leadership role in preventative and rejuvenating care, by continuously offering consistent and cutting-edge services in state-of-the-art venues to its worldwide clients.

To support this, Chenot has focused on expanding its brand portfolio, while strengthening the Chenot Method and promoting successful ageing and a wellness culture, as a whole, by integrating health into wellbeing.

Earlier this year, the Chenot Group unveiled Chenot Palace Weggis as the new home to Chenot, following the end of a partnership with Hotel Palace Merano.

The Chenot portfolio includes nine locations in eight countries – Chenot Palace Weggis, Chenot Palace Gabala, Chenot Espace at Albereta Relais & Chateaux, Chenot Espace at One&Only Portonovi Montenegro, Chenot Spa at Grand Resort Lagonissi Athens, Chenot Spa at Elounda Beach Hotel Crete, Chenot Spa at One&Only Desaru Coast Malaysia, Chenot Spa at Selman Marrakech and Chenot Spa at Barvikha Hotel & Spa Moscow.

The collection also includes a product portfolio of skincare cosmeceuticals, professional spa products and herbal teas.
