Mandarin Oriental spas will be offering a new set of treatments by product house Aromatherapy Associates during the month of October, designed to contribute to the fight against breast cancer. The treatments have been developed to decrease the anxiety felt by sufferers of cancer using a variety of massage techniques.

The Inner Strength spa treatment, featuring Aromatherapy Associates’ Inner Strength Oil, is unique to Mandarin Oriental spas. The therapy involves the application of a heated compress followed by a massage, followed by focused attention on the guest’s reflex points in the feet.

“[The treatment] has been designed to promote rejuvenation and empowerment, and is particularly suited to anyone facing a challenging period in their lives,” said Jeremy McCarthy, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s director of spa. “We are especially pleased to be able to contribute to cancer research through this new offering.”

Ten per cent of proceeds from each Inner Strength treatment purchased during October will be donated to a variety of cancer research institutes around the world that have been chosen by each individual hotel offering the therapy.

Mandarin Oriental spas offering this treatment include those in Atlanta, Barcelona, Boston, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, London, Las Vegas, Miami, New York, Paris, Prague and San Francisco.

Mandarin Oriental San Francisco has chosen to support the American Cancer Society. The spa will also be offering a pink manicure and pedicure. Ten per cent of proceeds from treatments that use the SpaRitual nail polish pink collection will also be donated to the charity. Guests will be able to choose from 18 shades of pink nail polish.
