Rosewood Little Dix Bay to undergo complete renovation
POSTED 18 Jan 2016 . BY Jane Kitchen
The Sense spa will remain in its famous cliff-edge location, but will also be remodelled as part of the project
The iconic Rosewood Little Dix Bay resort in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands, will close for 18 months beginning in May in order to undergo a complete renovation – the most substantial upgrade since it was founded by Laurance S. Rockefeller more than 50 years ago. The resort is set to reopen towards the end of 2017.

New York City-based Meyers Davis Studio Inc. will lead the renovation and oversee the overall design concept for the resort. The Sense spa will remain in its famous cliff-edge location, but will also be remodelled as part of the project, though further details on the spa remodel are not yet available.

Miami-based OBMI architects will manage the new structure of the Beach Grill and the remodel of the resort’s guestrooms and suites. Landscape Contractors and Design will carry out the design and overall enhancement of the resort’s landscaping, lighting and signage.

The iconic Pavilion and Sugar Mill buildings will remain intact, but will feature extended indoor/outdoor dining areas and the guestrooms will introduce new signature suites. The renovation will also include the addition of new restaurant concepts and an increased focus on sustainability.

“This renovation is a testament to Rosewood Little Dix Bay’s commitment to providing unmatched luxury accommodations, the highest level of service and the modern amenities that appeal to today’s luxury global travellers,” said Edward Linsley, managing director of Little Dix Bay.

“Temporarily closing the resort will allow us to complete this refurbishment as quickly as possible and allow our guests to return to our island paradise in 2017.”
