The Sequoia Spa, at five-star UK hotel The Grove, has been updated with new wellness facilities and a refreshed menu of treatments following a six-month refurbishment.

All areas of the Hertfordshire spa, besides treatment rooms, have received a comprehensive refresh following input from London-based interior and design studio, Studio Jill.

The design brief involved instilling a peaceful, nature-inspired ambience within the spa setting to reflect The Grove's 300-acre estate’s expansive gardens and plants. In light of this, Studio Jill worked with a palette of warm, earthy tones as well as a selection of natural materials to give the spa a fresh look and feel.

New facilities at the spa include a members lounge, a relaxation lounge, two experience showers, a new poolside steamroom, a men’s sauna and steamroom and an additional wellness pool within the ladies-only area.

The outdoor spa terrace has also received new furniture and guests can visit a newly refurbished dining space with an outdoor courtyard and a dedicated Sequoia Kitchen menu.

As part of the £1.6m (€1.9m, US$1.9m) relaunch, the spa’s treatment menu has received a makeover and now offers a new selection of facials, massages and body treatments supplied by the Sequoia Spa’s long-term partners Espa and Natura Bisse. All rituals on offer last 80 minutes.

Anna Darnell, resort director at The Grove, said: “The Sequoia Spa’s refurbishment is extremely exciting and ultimately enhances the experience for both spa members and guests of The Grove.

“The new nature-inspired furnishings and décor are part of The Grove's ongoing goal to link its beautiful gardens to its interiors and to further contribute to the relaxing atmosphere of the spa.

“This extensive refurbishment has already been extremely well received by both long-standing members, as well as first-time visitors, and we're excited to showcase the spa to those who have yet to see the developments."

The spa's transformation is part of a resort-wide overhaul which also saw Martin Hulbert Design update 189 bedrooms in the West Wing of The Grove. This year, the hotel's remaining rooms and suites situated in the heart of the hotel – the Mansion – will also be updated.
