Champneys has unveiled a new partnership with Thalgo, the original French marine spa brand.

The group’s flagship luxury residential health spa in Tring, set within 170 acres of rolling parkland, has put in place a multi-million pound refurbishment programme which, while providing important enhancements to the facilities, remains true to its innovative heritage, established in 1925 by Champney’s founder Stanley Lief.

The programme includes a new Detox and Wellbeing Centre complete with hydropool, introducing a Medical and Wellbeing Centre, with a private GP service which is already in place, rejuvenating the boutique and shop areas, plus giving the restaurant an overhaul and enhancing the wonderful gardens.

The Thalassotherapy relaxation area has been revamped and the bedrooms have been upgraded.

“Champneys are the original spa pioneers and Thalgo is the original marine spa brand, pioneer of the thalassotherapy trend/technique, so we share a very similar philosophy,” says Stephen Purdew, proprietor of Champneys Health Spas.

“We wanted a brand which offers results as well as relaxation and Thalgo was the obvious choice. We are very excited to be putting Thalgo in the new spa.”

Thalgo treatments are based on marine ingredients, using algae extracts with specific anti-ageing, slimming, detoxifying, hydrating and soothing properties to treat a range of conditions and provide general well-being. Originators of the marine spa and beauty trend, the brand celebrated its 50th anniversary last year.

“We couldn’t be more delighted to be partnering with Champneys” says Marian Harvey, managing director of the Thalgo Group. “Champneys is such an icon within the spa world and we are thrilled to be part of this new development. This partnership of brands is the perfect combination to deliver excellent results in such stunning, relaxing surroundings.”

Champneys will also have a range of Thalgo homecare products on offer for guests to continue the sensory spa experience at home.
