US-based hotel giant Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has relaunched its Radisson Acqua Hotel & Spa Concon, following a US$2.5m (€2.1m, £1.9m) redevelopment of its wellness facilities.
The 66-bedroom resort has been renamed and will operate under the Radisson Blu brand, becoming the second Radisson Blu hotel in Chile and the first to focus on wellness.
The Acqua Spa has been redeveloped to offer a range of treatment rooms, a large wet area with indoor saltwater pool, steamrooms, sauna and a Finnish shower area.
The treatment menu features massages, face and body treatments and thalassotherapy. Alternative therapies include reiki, Tao and stone massages.
“Our momentum in Chile shows our commitment to increasing our brand’s footprint and this is an exciting addition to our international portfolio of upper-upscale hotels,” said Frances Gonzalez, vice president of operations for Carlson in Latin America.
Launched originally as a design-focused brand, an increasing number of Radisson Blus have wellness facilities.
Due to open next month (January), the Radisson Blu Uluwatu in Bali will include a 633sq m (6,814sq ft) SpaEsc, designed by AW Lake Design.
Meanwhile, The Radisson Blu Resort and Spa Gran Canaria Mogan – which launched earlier this year – features a large wellness spa operated by local company Spa-In.
There are now more than 300 Radisson Blu hotels in operation across 69 countries and territories.
