Hilton Worldwide has signed management agreements for two new-build Hilton Hotels & Resorts properties in Queenstown, New Zealand.

The waterfront development on Lake Wakatipu will comprise a 178-room five-star hotel to be named Hilton Queenstown and a four-star hotel, featuring 98 one-bedroom apartment-style rooms, to be known as the Kawarau Hotel, Managed by Hilton.

Currently being built, completion of both is expected in 2011.

Hilton Queenstown will feature a range of food and beverage outlets, including a signature lakeside restaurant and bar, and a lobby lounge.

Among the leisure facilities available will be an indoor heated swimming pool, a fully-equipped health club and a seven-room health spa. There will also be a hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam rooms.

Meeting and event provision is to include a main conference room of 535sq m (5,760sq ft), a second conference room of 520sq m (5,600sq ft), two boardrooms and a fully-equipped business centre.

The two properties will join existing Hilton hotels in Auckland and at Lake Taupo.
