case study: Ōpuke Thermal Pools and Spa
Ōpuke Thermal Pools and Spa is located in Methven, Canterbury, an hour outside of Christchurch City in New Zealand. The extensive NZ$17m development features several thermal pools fed by melting glacial waters from the surrounding mountains and rivers which is heated all year round by solar power. The facility includes multiple thermal bathing experiences for families with an adult only area offering private pools and an exclusive day spa.

Working with project architects Sheppard & Rout, Spa Vision designed a spa layout to deliver a world class customer experience and private spa sanctuary in the heart of this multi-use facility. The design was underpinned by a comprehensive gap analysis and feasibility study to ensure the proposed investment was offering the best possible return on investment.
In addition to design and planning services, Spa Vision provided a comprehensive procurement and supply package for the spa equipment and furniture. This included the supply and remote installation (due to Covid restrictions) of a custom Rasul experience that can accommodate 4 guests that’s offers ‘hands-free’ chargeable treatments.
